Hakuba Village Areas
The Hakuba Valley offers a huge range of accommodation. Most accommodations are either within walking distance of the resorts or linked to the resorts by a frequent shuttle bus service. The main locations of accommodation in Hakuba are:
Happo One
At the base of this world class resort are a number of accommodation options ranging from self contained, western lodges and bed and breakfasts to hotels and Japanese Pensions. The area includes tourist shops, ski and snowboard shops, indoor and outdoor Onsens, many restaurants and is linked to other resorts of Iwatake, Tsugaike and Hakuba 47 by frequent shuttle bus services. Wadano
Wadano is located in the far northern part of the Happo One resort. This area is concentrated with hotel accommodations and was heavily developed before the 1998 Winter Olympic Games. Other facilities include a small selection of Bars and restaurants and a few Onsens. The Wadano area is the location of Evergreen outdoor centre, the premier guiding service in Hakuba and is linked to the resorts of Iwatake, Hakuba 47, and Tsugaike through resort shuttle buses. Echoland
Echoland is situated in the heart of the valley inbetween Hakuba 47 and Happo One. Echoland accommodation includes many pensions, western style lodges, boutique hotels, and self contained properties. The area includes the main entertainment strip in Hakuba comprising 4-5 western bars, multiple ski, snowboard, and other shops, many restaurants and Izakaya’s (Japanese Pubs) an indoor and outdoor Onsen and other tourist services such as rental stores etc. From Echoland Happo One is a 15 minute walk and is also serviced by regular shuttle buses as are the other resorts of Hakuba 47, Hakuba Goryu, Iwatake, and Tsugaike.Hakuba Goryu
Hakuba Goryu is located on the southern side of the valley. The accommodation in Goryu is mainly backpacker style and Japanese Pensions. There are a few restaurants and shops, one of the largest bars in the Valley and some of the best Onsens in Hakuba. Most accommodations are within walking distance of the Hakuba Goryu ski resort and frequent shuttle buses over to Happo One take approximately 15 minutes.
