Happo-One
Happo-One has an average annual snowfall of 450 inches. Happo-One has the largest available area of above tree line skiing/riding in all of Japan. Patrol allows you to ride or ski the whole mountain, minus 1 or 2 avalanche areas that are clearly marked.
This ski resort was a stage for the 1998 Winter Olympics with the downhill race. All of the courses are constantly groomed, runs are always in their optimum condition. The resort base of Happo-One ski resort is located at 2,493 feet above sea level and has the feel of a real mountain village at night, with its après-ski activities and buzzing atmosphere. Cafes and restaurants add to the pleasure of visiting this ski resort.
Half of the terrain at Happo-One ski resort is for intermediate skiers and snowboarders and there are 13 slopes, the longest of which is a respectable five miles. An impressive 33 ski lifts provide slope access for over 45,000 people per hour over the 3,515-foot vertical, while snowboarders also have the option of the terrain park.
